No Airport Closure for Regular Flights Ahead of 43rd ASEAN Summit

Jakarta, LINews – PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II is contributing to the success of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta by ensuring the smooth mobility of state guests and delegates through Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) Airport. Additionally, regular flights will operate as usual without flight closures.

“AP II ensures that all scheduled regular flights continue to operate; there are approximately 960—980 flights per day but there are no flight closures prior to or during the 43rd Summit,” said President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten Sunday (3 September 2023).

The 43rd ASEAN Summit will take place from 5 to 7 September 2023, with the arrival of delegates and state guests scheduled to begin on 4 September 2023.

For this reason, continued Awaluddin, AP II has prepared the best service at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to welcome the arrival of state guests, including a roll call, in advance.

The roll call was attended by all Soekarno-Hatta Airport personnel, including Customer Service, Digital Service, Aviation Security, Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF), Terminal Inspection Service (TIS) and the Engineering team.

“The roll call aims to ensure that all personnel are prepared to welcome state guests and delegates of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, as Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the main gateway for their arrival,” he explained.

Muhammad Awaluddin stated that it is his party’s responsibility to ensure the arrival runs smoothly and to make a good first impression on state guests arriving in Indonesia.

“I requested that three aspects must be ensured, namely people (human resources), process (procedures) and facilities. Coordination, collaboration and synergy must be improved with all stakeholders to ensure security, safety and service,” he added.
